About
Queer Archery League (QAL) aims to build community, foster archery skills, and nourish teamwork among queer and trans people. The league was founded by trans activist Eli Erlick in 2021 to empower queer archers in New York City. We currently have over 400 members signed up to shoot twice each month. QAL is not a formal league but will host competitive shoots in the future along with our practice meets. We meet at the Gotham Archery ranges in Brooklyn and Manhattan and plan to expand to other locations.

Queer Archery League meets in Brooklyn and Manhattan every month at the Gotham Archery ranges. Feel free to join us at either or both ranges! This group is 100% free but shooting costs $18 per lane per hour. Equipment rental is $15/day. Intro classes are $40. Gotham allows archers to bring their own equipment. Recurve and compound bows are both welcome (unfortunately crossbows are not allowed at this time!). Please also note that bows are legal to carry in NYC as long as they’re not being shot in public.
If you haven’t shot before, you will need to take an intro class with Gotham Archery. Learn more about their classes at www.got-archery.com/intro-class.
Our meets typically bring 5-15 members. We often share stories and go to dinner after shooting. We generally rent lanes two Saturdays a month from 5-6 pm but times and days may vary.
